Why I Believe in Jesus

By Scott Cahan PART 1 – INTRODUCTION I am a follower of Jesus Christ, or to put it another way, I am a Christian in the true sense of the word, meaning one who identifies himself with the person and work of Jesus Christ. The purpose of this article is to lay out my reasoning for this belief. It is not my goal to force my beliefs on anyone else. That would be pointless because true Christianity cannot be forced. One becomes a Christian by choosing to do so. I simply want to state why I feel this religion is … Continue reading Why I Believe in Jesus

Falcon and Winter Soldier

This series on Disney Plus is part of the new story phase that Marvel Studios is building from ground up now that their highly successful Avengers story arc came to an end a few years ago with End Game. I watched The Falcon and Winter Soldier series in its entirety and for the most part I enjoyed it. As long as I remember its only a television series I can confidently say it’s a decent show. But, when I find myself comparing it to the Avengers movies of the past 10 years, that’s when I feel like it doesn’t measure … Continue reading Falcon and Winter Soldier

My Dark Path – Great Podcast

When I come across an exceptional podcast that I’m genuinely enjoying, I like to help spread the word about it. My Dark Path is the name of the podcast. It is produced by science fiction author, M.F. Thomas and according to the subtitle on his website the podcast “explores the fringes of history, science, and the paranormal.” Each episode focuses on one portion of history that is little known, bizarre, and stems from some darkness within human beings. The show’s choice of topics are all things that I find extremely interesting. Topics such as airships, UFO sightings, a haunted hotel, … Continue reading My Dark Path – Great Podcast

Book Cover Reveal for My New Book

I’m excited to unveil the cover of my new book, Caged Animals. I worked long and hard on it, trying to get it just right. I know I’m not being very humble here, but I have to say I love the way it turned out. Why shouldn’t I brag on my work. If it were someone else’s artwork I’d brag on it. And, the fact that I’m happy with it is a big deal because I’m the toughest customer I know. Many times in the course of designing my cover I was tempted to say, “that’s good enough,” but I … Continue reading Book Cover Reveal for My New Book

Just Got Back from Guatemala

I returned a few days ago from a mission trip to Guatemala. This was my third trip in three years. My daughter Chloe came with me the first two times I went and it was kind of a father/daughter trip. This year, we were able to raise enough support to bring my wife, Jenny, and my youngest daughter, Alyssa, along too. So, it was more of a family adventure this time. Wow, what a fun and meaningful adventure it was. We went with a fantastic organization called Mission Housing Ministries. I have found that people don’t really understand the point … Continue reading Just Got Back from Guatemala

Electrical Menagerie – Book Review

Electrical Menagerie by Mollie E. Reeder is the delightful story of magic and the entertainers whose lives are defined by the magic they create. The time and setting are never defined, but the story seems to be set in some alternate universe that looks a lot like Earth in the late 1800s but it includes certain technological advancements, like robots, that could never have existed back in those days. However, the author weaves these hi-tech elements so masterfully into the story that they felt natural to the world of the Electrical Menagerie. The plot follows an illusionist named Carthage and … Continue reading Electrical Menagerie – Book Review

The Many HOPES of Christmas

by Scott Cahan, ….  Everyone, it seems, loves Christmas. Sure, there are some modern-day Scrooges who have their reasons for not liking Christmas, but the majority of us find something special to enjoy about Christmas time. I believe that something special is a little word with a big meaning … hope. I have observed that practically everyone, young and old, finds something to hope in during the holiday season that lifts their spirits and gives them something to celebrate. This includes Christians, people of other faiths, people who don’t know what they believe, and even people who claim to be atheists. This … Continue reading The Many HOPES of Christmas

Thoughts on Dr Strange Movie

After seeing the new movie, Dr. Strange a few nights ago, I’m giving it the following two ratings:  for Entertainment Value  for Content Concerns The 2 symbols I’ve used above are called SPLARS, a hybrid of a STAR and a SPLAT. A SPLAR means the movie falls somewhere between good and bad. Entertainment Value In many ways, Dr. Strange was a very entertaining movie. Benedict Cumberbatch was perfect for the role. Not only was his acting right on, but he fit the part physically as well. The character arc for Dr. Strange as a character was very effective. He was somewhat unlikable … Continue reading Thoughts on Dr Strange Movie

Risen Review

The movie Risen is a well made, thought provoking movie that’s worth seeing. I liked it for two reasons. Number one; it doesn’t look or feel like a Christian movie. The acting was excellent and the setting and costumes looked authentic. Number two; it provides a fresh take on a familiar Easter story. How would a non-believer who was forced to take an in-depth look at the alleged resurrection of Jesus Christ, react? As the details of the resurrection unfold he is confronted with the unexpected conclusion that it might be true. For me, the movie became the most interesting when … Continue reading Risen Review
