The Incredibles 2 – My Review

It may not be much of a surprise, but my favorite movie of all time is The Incredibles. I have waited anxiously for the sequel and after viewing it over the weekend with my teenage kids, I was not disappointed. If you don’t count the Toy Story movies (all three are so brilliant, 2 and 3 hardly seem like sequels), then Pixar got into the business of making sequels back in 2011 when they made Cars 2. Beauty and the Beast 2017, Still Magical

A STAR for Entertainment Value … Disney’s new live-action Beauty and the Beast movie gives us all the charm and magic of their 1991 classic and more. The translation from classic animation to real live actors and sets was almost flawless in my book, although I must point out that it wasn’t a full translation. By that I mean there were still many computer generated characters, effects, and settings throughout the film. Thoughts on Dr Strange Movie

After seeing the new movie, Dr. Strange a few nights ago, I’m giving it the following two ratings:  for Entertainment Value  for Content Concerns The 2 symbols I’ve used above are called SPLARS, a hybrid of a STAR and a SPLAT. A SPLAR means the movie falls somewhere between good and bad. Entertainment Value In many ways, Dr. Strange was a very entertaining movie. Benedict Cumberbatch was perfect for the role. Captain America: Civil War … Good vs Good = Bad

I finally got a chance to see Captain America: Civil War over the weekend. I know its been out since May of this year, but life has been busy and movie going funds have been low. BFG is Big and Friendly

The new movie, BFG (Big Friendly Giant), has disappointed in ticket sales so far, but in the “great movie” department, it’s a huge success. I took my 13 year old daughter to see it this past weekend and we both had nothing but good things to say about it. Beyond The Mask

I was interested in seeing Beyond the Mask because, to my knowledge, its the first action adventure period movie produced by a Christian film company. Burns Family Studios made Beyond the Mask and released it last year. The only movie series that I can think of to compare it to is the Pirates of the Caribbean series, although Mask is not about pirates. But, it is around the same time period and involves lots of action set in historic locations between good guys and bad guys.
