Galaxy Quest – Funny Sci-Fi

I introduced my kids to one of the great science fiction comedies of all time, Galaxy Quest. The plot centers around the cast of a fictional science fiction TV show. It’s obviously patterned off of the original Star Trek tv series starring William Shatner and Leonard Neemoy. The series in the movie is called, Galaxy Quest, and it’s tired and older cast members includeed Tim Allen as the actor who played the Captain of the Spaceship, Alan Rickman who plays the actor who plays the science officer, and Sigourney Weaver who plays the actor who played the lone female cast member. The Martian – Movie Review

The Martian, the movie, gets a STAR from me for several reasons. My first reason goes back to my review of the book a few months ago (read it here). Earth To Echo & Maze Runner

Two New Movies for Young Sci-Fi Fans, Coming Soon! EARTH TO ECHO Coming out July 2nd. This one is exciting to me because it’s a rare science fiction movie that’s actually rated PG. It looks like the kind of movie adults can watch with their kids and they can actually all enjoy the same movie together. Not only that, the trailer looks awesome. It reminds me of some of my favorite movies like ET, Super 8, and Goonies. Here is the newest trailer. THE MAZE RUNNER The movie adaptation of The Maze Runner, by James Daschner, is scheduled to be released September … Continue reading Earth To Echo & Maze Runner

Earth To Echo – First Look

Earth To Echo will arrive in theaters this July 4th weekend. Today was the first time I’ve heard of this movie. Judging from the trailer and some of the buzz I’m seeing on movie sites, it could be really good. It looks like it’s an alien-come-to-earth movie in the vein of E.T. and Super 8, two of my favorite movies of all time. This one, like those, is centered around the group of kids who find the alien; every boy’s fantasy.Beyond the interesting plot, I’m also giving it attention here because it will be rated PG. Here is the plot … Continue reading Earth To Echo – First Look
