In an age where the role of fathers is mocked and belittled in our entertainment and media, it’s refreshing to see this inspiring TV ad produced by Dove. It will be airing this weekend during the Super Bowl. I’m a Dad of 4 wonderful kids. This 1 minute collection of Dad moments chokes me up every time I watch it. I just finished going through this video series with our youth at my church. It’s part 2 of the True U series, produced by Focus on the Family. I highly recommend it for all youth 8th through 12th grade. It’s meant to prepare students for the attacks on their faith that will surely come as soon as they enter college. Fifty Shades of Sesame Street

In a recent Ernie and Bert sketch on everyone’s favorite educational kid’s show Sesame Street, there is an obvious allusion to the Shades of Grey book. Bert is sitting on a park bench and reading a book that clearly shows the title “Fifty Shades of Oatmeal”. He addresses the camera and then reads the book. Why is it that talented young actresses that get their start on Nickelodeon and Disney Channel almost always go off the deep end as soon as they hit adulthood? Does God Exist? True-U

I am currently going through this DVD series with a group of teenagers at my church. The series is called True-U, Does God Exist? I give it a big STAR and I highly recommend this series as well as the other two True-U sets, “Is The Bible Reliable” and “Who is Jesus?”. It’s professionally made and very enlightening. This is no simplified Sunday School lesson. It’s presented more as a college course with one of the top Christian Scientists and Apologists, Dr. Stephen Meyer speaking to a room full of college age kids.
